Repair procedures

Removal and Installation

Remove the rear wheel and tire (A).

Tightening torque :

107.9 - 127.5 N·m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf·m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb·ft)

Be careful not to damage to the hub bolts when removing the rear wheel and tire.

2.	Remove the rear brake assembly. (Refer to Brake System - "Rear Disc Brake") (Refer to Brake System - "Rear Drum Brake")

3.	Remove the trailing arm. (Refer to Rear Suspension System - "Trailing Arm")

4.	Remove the rear carrier assembly. (Refer to Driveshaft and Axle - "Rear Hub - Carrier")

5.	Remove the rear muffler. D 1.6 TCI-NEW U (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Muffler") G 1.6 MPI GAMMA (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Muffler") G 1.6 T-GDI GAMMA (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Muffler") G 2.0 MPI NU (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Muffler")

6.	Remove the rear stabilizer bar. (Refer to Rear Suspension System - "Rear Stabilizer Bar")

Support the rear cross member (A) with a jack and then remove the rear cross member bolts and nuts.

Tightening torque :

156.9 - 176.5 N·m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf·m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb·ft)

8.	Remove the rear cross member (A).

9.	Install in the reverse order of removal.

10.	Check the wheel alignment. (Refer to Rear Suspension System - "Rear Alignment")

Insepction

1.	Check the bushing for wear and deterioration.

2.	Check the rear cross member for deformation..

3.	Check for all bolts and nut

Disassembly

Remove the rear upper arm (A) by loosening the bolt and nut (B).

Tightening torque :

137.3 - 156.9 N.m (14.0 - 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 - 115.7 lb-ft)

Remove the rear assist arm (A) by loosening the bolt and nut (B).

Tightening torque :

107.9 - 117.7 N·m (11.0 - 12.0 kgf·m, 79.6 - 86.8 lb·ft)

Remove the lower arm (A) by loosening the bolt and nut (B).

Tightening torque :

107.9 - 117.7 N·m (11.0 - 12.0 kgf·m, 79.6 - 86.8 lb·ft)

4.	Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
