Repair procedures
Removal
1.

Shift the gear to "N".

2.

Remove the air cleaner assembly and air duct.

(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air cleaner")

3.

Remove the battery and battery tray.

(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")

4.

Remove the shift cable (A) from the bracket after loosening a nut (B).

5.

Remove the knob (A) by pulling it in the direction of arrow after removing the boots from the console upper cover.

6.

Remove the floor console assembly.

(Refer to Body - "Floor Console Assembly")

7.

Remove the shift cable from the shift lever pin after removing the snap pin (A).

8.

Remove the cable socket (A) from the shift lever.

9.

Remove the shift cable retainer (A) after loosening the nuts (B).

Then, remove the shift cable by pulling it toward the vehicle interior.

Installation
1.

Before installation, insert "N range fixing pin"(A) of shift lever after checking the shift lever and manual control lever are on "N" range.

2.

Install the shift cable retainer (A) by tightening nuts (B).

Tightening torque :

11.8 - 14.7 N·m (1.2 - 1.5 kgf·m, 8.7 - 10.8 lb·ft)

3.

Install the cable socket (A).

4.

Install the shift cable to the lever pin and then insert the snap pin (A).

  

Install the shift cable after checking the direction of projection to prevent incorrect assembly.

Mind the installation direction of snap pin and install the snap pin with the hook facing upward.

5.

Make sure to get rid of "N range fixing pin"(A) after installing the shift lever assembly.

6.

Install the floor console assembly.

(Refer to Body - "Floor Console Assembly")

7.

Install the knob (A) by pressing it in the direction of arrow after installing the boots to the console upper cover.

8.

Install the shift cable (A) to bracket and then lightly tighten the nut (B).

  

The existing shift cable clip (A) must be replaced with new one. (Do not reuse it.)

9.

Tighten the nut (B) to the specified torque after removing free play by pushing the shift cable (A) in the direction of the arrow.

Tightening torque :

9.8 - 14.7 N·m (1.0 - 1.5 kgf·m, 7.2 - 10.8 lb·ft)

  

The existing shift cable clip must be replaced with new one. (Do not reuse it.)

10.

Install the battery and battery tray.

(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")

11.

Install the air cleaner assembly and air duct.

(Refer to Engine Mechnical System - "Air Cleaner")
