Description |
The cooling fan operates in 2 stages (HIGH/LOW). The engine control module (ECM) controls the cooling fan according to the coolant temperature, vehicle speed and A/C operation.

Removal and Installation |
1. |
Disconnect the battery negative terminal. |
2. |
Remove the air cleaner assembly. (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Air Cleaner") |

Remove the engine room under cover. (Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "Engine room under cover") |
4. |
Remove the air cleaner assembly. (Refer to Intake and Exhaust - "Air Cleaner") |
5. |
Disconnect the RCV solenoide valve connector (A) and booster pressure sensor (BPS) connector (B).

Disconnect the intercooler outlet hose (A).
|
7. |
Remove the intercooler inlet hose & pipe (A).
|
8. |
Disconnect the cooling fan controller (PWM) connector (A).
|
9. |
Remove the cooling fan assembly (A).
|
Cooling Fan Controller (PWM)
1. |
Remove the air duct (A).
|
2. |
Disconnect the cooling fan controller connector (A) and cooling fan connector (B).
|
3. |
Remove the cooling fan controller (A).
|
4. |
Install in the reverse order of removal. |
Disassembly |
1. |
Remove the cooling fan (A) from the cooling fan assembly.

2. |
Disconnect the cooling fan motor connector (A).
|
3. |
Remove the fan motor (A) from the cooling fan shroud.
|
4. |
Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly. |
Inspection |
Fan motor |
1. |
Disconnect the fan motor connector from the cooling fan controller. |
2. |
Connect the battery voltage to the "+" terminal and ground to "-" terminal. |
3. |
Check that the cooling fan motor operates well. |
